Over the past several years, residents and businesses have been repeatedly encouraged by SFMTA staff to document and report conditions, impacts, and potential violations related to the Hayes Street closure and the permit governing the use of the street. Many people have done exactly that. February 23, 2026 Attention SFMTA: See closure conditions for this past weekend:Friday February 20, 2026Saturday February 21, 2026 This marks Week 63 of documented noncompliance under Permit No. 1316522. Conditions remain materially unchanged. In addition, residents on Grove Street report sustained Saturday traffic congestion associated with the closure, including difficulty exiting residential driveways and extended backups during closure hours.
