Lower Haight Fire – 248 Divisadero

Consider Making a Donation

Our neighbors in the Lower Haight have shared a GoFundMe campaign to help support residents who lost their homes as a result of yesterday’s fire on Divisadero.

Yesterday afternoon, twelve (12) Lower Haight residents lost their homes as a result of a 3-Alarm fire at 248 Divisadero Street. Many of the longtime residents in this five-unit Victorian are immigrants, elderly or disabled, surviving as low-income wage earners or artists; all of them are valuable members of our community.

While they are currently receiving aid and support, that will soon end and unfortunately many of them could be placed in new neighborhoods, far from where the place they’ve called home for decades.

LoHaMNA is sharing the GoFundMe that’s been set up to benefit the 248 Divisadero residents directly.

In addition we’re putting out calls to help everyone who lost their entire home and possessions locate new homes, right here in the Lower Haight.

If you know of any empty apartments in the Lower Haight, please get in touch with us at [email protected].

We’d like to help these neighbors stay local, if at all possible.
