Lyft Bike Station on Octavia at Hayes
We’ve checked in with SFMTA regarding the Lyft Bike Station now located on Octavia at Hayes. Update provided: “This is just a temporary move for construction related to the Laguna St/Hayes location. Once the construction is finished, the bikeshare station will go back to its originally legislated area.
Who is the Hayes Valley Public Safety Committee?
We prompted you a while back of the confusing title status of the HVNA Public Safety Committee aka Hayes Valley Public Safety Committee lead by Bob Barnwell here. Our point is further corroborated with the details of an upcoming HVNA meeting where they HVNA is also referencing Bob’s Committee and linking to its Public Safety Committee. It’s time Bob admits he represents one and the same.
HVNA (Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association) President Jen Laska a Paid Political Operative
In recent weeks we’ve been prompted with news regarding the HVNA president Jen Laska being employed by a political action committee (GrowSF). Because of our first hand experience with the overreach of the Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association we find this development detrimental to the good health of civic engagement and representation for the neighborhood.
Cement Installation on Octavia at Page
We have been prompted of a new cement installation at Octavia. We’ve listened to a number of public safety concerns community wide and have voiced these concerns with City Agencies. Update: Monday September 19, 3:30 pm Richard and another neighbor spoke to the installer at the site. He explained that Lloyd Silverstein/HVMA and the HVNA gave him the approval to set up these installations. Explosion on Gough
In light of the recent explosion on Gough, we reached out to SFPD Northern Station for insight. Per the Police Captain: There was a small device that was set off in the area of 355 Fulton between Franklin and Gough. There was damage to a business plate glass window, but no civilians were injured. I was also made aware that this has happened recently more that once. We are investigating and will be following-up to hopefully identify who is responsible …
Bike Station on Grove
An insight on process Neighbors reported in on July 15th that a new bike station had been installed on Grove and Laguna. We checked in with the Bikeshare Manager at SFMTA…here’s what he said: The Laguna/Grove station was recently relocated from Fulton/Laguna due to construction needs related to the incoming paving project. We received notification of a pre-application meeting for a restaurant and bar at 203 Octavia. It’s been brought to our attention that the person disseminating this information is both a HVNA board member and MOCAC (Market & Octavia Community Advisory Committee) member; it’s unclear why this individual is offering permit services in this capacity. We view this matter as a potential conflict of interest.
