This marks the 35th consecutive week of documented noncompliance for the closure on Hayes. We observed restaurant employees parking their cars within the closed section – a direct violation of the permit. On Friday, individuals were skateboarding in the closure zone, another clear violation. Ironically, if the street were open, workers could park legally without occupying public space under a closure that delivers no visible public benefit. The continued obstruction of a vital business corridor for 35 weeks without enforcement action is indefensible. The permit should be revoked and the street restored to its intended use.
