The same permit compliance concerns documented throughout this permit term remained this weekend.On Saturday, July 18, the weekly farmers market was not operating due to the Hayes Valley Carnival. Despite the permit authorizing a 3:00 p.m. street closure, the 400 block of Hayes Street was observed closed at approximately 10:00 a.m., consistent with the previously documented early closure on July 4.
Limited activity was observed following the carnival, with the street largely vacant during the late afternoon and evening.It is time for SFMTA to revoke Shared Spaces Permit No. 1316522 and restore the 400 block of Hayes Street to normal public use.
