Week 13 • Hayes Street Farmers Market Temporary Street Closure Permit No. 1493851

September 13, 2026
Attention SFMTA:

Street conditions for the Hayes Street Farmers Market documented here:
Saturday, September 12, 2026

Week 13 again documented the recurring conditions underlying our request that SFMTA relocate the Hayes Valley Farmers Market from the 400 block of Hayes Street. Barricades remained unattended, market-related vehicles continued to occupy curb and loading space on and adjacent to the commercial corridor, and the Signature clothing vendor was again selling during farmers market operations.

For the second consecutive week, a market vendor setup was again observed within the emergency access area at Octavia.

Thirteen weeks of documentation now demonstrate that these are recurring operational conditions, not isolated occurrences. Hayes Street businesses cannot continue to absorb the impacts of a separately permitted commercial event every Saturday. Our request that SFMTA relocate the farmers market stands.
