This marks 33 consecutive weeks of outreach to you. At this stage the continued purpose of this closure is, frankly, bewildering to say the least. The event held on Saturday which had a dismal turnout but was still used by our Supervisor as a photo opportunity referencing the so-called “promenade” did not go unnoticed. What’s more troubling is that there was zero coordination or outreach to either HVSafe or the HVSBA regarding this event. (Not that we would have supported it — it resulted in opportunity loss for small businesses, which likely explains why we’re consistently excluded from events Andrew continues to broker on Hayes Street. Commerce and community stability don’t seem to factor into the equation.) It goes without saying: we are increasingly exhausted by this ongoing pattern of blatant exclusion and discrimination.
