Closure Conditions Observed – Weekend of March 27-28, 2026
Friday March 27, 2026
Saturday March 28, 2026
Conditions observed this past weekend were consistent with previously documented patterns including:
- Continued unpermitted vendor activity
- Ongoing commercial use of the public right-of-way without visible authorization
- Persistent lack of enforcement and oversight
At this stage, these are not new observations. They remain ongoing and unaddressed.
Efforts to characterize routine documentation of public street conditions as harassment have been rejected. Despite this, the underlying conditions remain unchanged. Treating public observation of a permitted public space as grounds for legal action reflects a breakdown in permit administration, enforcement, and agency oversight.
At this stage, the appropriate course of action is clear. Continued operation of this permit is difficult to justify. The agency has both the authority and responsibility to act. Accordingly, consistent with our prior correspondence, we again call on the SFMTA Board to revoke Permit No. 1316522.-HVSs Street to its intended public use.
